Blackberries
Brazos - Earliest ripening and most prolific of all blackberries. Average season is four weeks, starting May 10th. Large semi-acid blackberries with erect semi-lateral canes. Adjusts to any area of the Southwest, including South Texas and Florida.

 



Rosborough - Erect growing with semi-lateral runners. Very hardy. Semi-sweet fruit with very little acid taste. Withstands moderately dry weather and needs no trickle irrigation. Average ripening date is May 22nd through June 1st with a 25 day picking season.
 


Shawnee - A University of Arkansas variety. Patented. A very vigorous grower that produces heavy crops of sweet berries that ripen about June 20th, two weeks after Brazos. Adaptable to all areas except extreme South Texas.

Thornless Black Satin - A trailing vine with medium sized sweet fruits. Moderately resistant to disease. Fairly productive in all regions.

Chickasaw - Newest thorny blackberry. Large in size.

Kiowa - Very large and very sweet blackberry, small thorns, resistant to disease, and heavy producer.

Navajo Thornless - Bush-upright berry, patented production of the University of Arkansas. Very large and thrifty berry with sweet flavor.

Arapaho - New thornless, sweet, upright bush type. Earlier ripening than Navajo.

Apache - Large, thornless blackberry. Ripens in late June.

Ouchita - Mid season. Sweet and heavy producer.

Thornless Boysenberry - Trailing type bush. Produces medium, burgundy colored fruits with average size crops. Highly resistant to diseases. Will grow well in most regions.

Austin Dewberry - A very sweet, slightly acid berry with a flavor all its own. Trailing type plant, does best on trellis to keep vegetation out. A good producer with large berries.

Blackberries like full sun. Keep the plant moist until established and fertilize in the spring just before new growth begins. Water at least a couple of times weekly.

Raspberries
Dorman Red Raspberry - A new hybrid raspberry that will produce anywhere in Texas and other southern states. Good flavor. Keeps very well after picking. Demands a very high market price in the Texas area. A heavy producer, ripening about June 1st.

Southland Red Raspberry - Old standard, very hardy variety. Does well in the North Texas area and other moderate climates. Will not grow in Southern regions or extremely hot climates. A trailing type vine with almost no thorns.Very disease resistant.

Raspberries like full sun. Keep the plant moist until established and fertilize in the spring just before new growth begins. Water at least a couple of times weekly.

Blueberries

Britewell - Very large, sweet berry. Rabbiteye type blueberries - Two year transplants.

Tifblue - Most popular of the blueberries. A very prolific producer. It has a 30 day ripening season with large berries and good dark color. Its fruit has a good keeping quality.

Climax - A very good variety, early ripening and producing a heavy yield. Vigorous growing bush with long ripening season. Does well in all areas of North and South Texas.

Austin - Newest variety - early as Climax.

Premier - Sweet and large berry. Heavy producer.

Blueberries do best in full sun. Keep the plant moist until established and fertilize in the spring just before new growth begins. For best fruit production, provide moist well drained acidic soil.
